Verzy has more commercial activities than Verzenay, perhaps because the square around which most are centered is bigger than our biggest square. And the town could expand more in recent years as Verzenay's expansion is impossible due to being completely fenced in by champagne vineyards (very expensive) and the forest. However, even though we went to look at a house there during our search for a house, I am glad we didn't buy there. Verzenay is also a steep village against the Montagne, but not coming close to Verzy (and fortunately we are located in the flatter part of Verzenay).

Like Verzenay, it is a Grand Cru village. Louis de Sacy is a very good champagne house where you can easily go for a champagne tasting after doing the walk between the two villages (and then you continue, drink a coffee in the restaurant and finally buy delicious pastries at the boulanger (bakery) which you eat at a picnic table on the way back).

Below: Veuve Clicquot has a house in Verzy as well
The village is situated directly below the forest and the part where the faux is concentrated:
Some houses in France have very interesting doors:
In Apr/May you'll find wisterias flowering in many places in France, especially in Rennes which I'll cover in a future blog:
